Homemade Whipped Shea Butter

Here is a simple recipe for whipping shea butter, this whipped body butter is beautiful for the skin and hair. Enjoy making it.

Homemade Whipped Shea Butter Ingredients 

250g of Shea Butter(of course)

130ml of Carrier Oils Choose from any of these, just make sure the total amount of carrier oils used is 130ml. (Coconut oilWheatgerm oil, Flaxseed oilSweet Almond oil, Jojoba oil, Castor oilArgan oil, Olive oil, Grapeseed oilHazelnut oil, etc.)

10 drops of Essential Oils, add more if you don't get the desired smell you want. (Lavender oillemongrass oil, lemon oilYlang YlangTea tree oil, etc.)

Fragrance (optional)

Electric Hand Mixer(if you are lazy like me) if not a good old whisk will do the trick

A big Bowl to prevent splatter while whipping.

 How To Make Homemade Whipped Shea Butter

If your Raw Shea butter is in big lump then chop into small size pieces

Place the shredded shea butter in a sauce pan or bowl.

Place the bowl in a pot of hot water for a few minutes, I said minutes. All we want to do is soften the poor dear not turn it into juice.

Bring it out and add the Carrier oils, choose your favourite oils, the choice is entirely yours.

A few drops of essential oils are needed to give it added benefits and nicer smell than the nutty aroma of Shea butter.

Then take your hand mixer and whisk until everything is mix up nice and fluffy, or nice and runny as you prefer.
